Sometimes we wonder how long the catwalk collections will take to get to the high street. When you watch London fashion week on the TV, you wonder if you will ever be wearing some of the styles.
Yet today, my hairdresser tells me that the mowhawk is out and the undercut is back. So no change there then, a couple of ever switching men’s hairstyles… Neither of which I considered whilst having mine cut!
This is whilst I was reading a national newspaper where the bones of this story leapt out at me.
Sunday at 1.08 PM L’Wren Scott (long term partner to Rolling Stone Mick Jagger) proved she can get and give some satisfaction when her new collection for Autumn Winter 13/14 was previewed to acclaimed reviews at London Fashion Week – less than 5 hours later Hollywood Beauty Nicole Kidman proved she is every part the supermodel wearing the exact same dress. At 45 Nicole looked utterly stunning in the outfit – she had people Bewitched.
This is proof that good design sells and a global superstar is a designer dress will help it sell more.
The idea to the woman on the street of what is trending at the couture end of the scale does however give them an idea of what the high street will design around for them next Autumn Winter. If L’Wren’s collection does anything to indicate where the High Street will be next year, Ladies you are in for a treat!
